WCU education program gets group's No. 5 ranking

A report from Best College Values ranked William Carey University as No. 5 on a national list of the most affordable online master's degrees in elementary education.

The Best Value ranking was derived from university websites and from U.S. News and World Report. The degree, comprising 30 hours of course work, may be completed in 15 months. Students may begin the program in any term. Tuition is $9,900, not including fees.

Students who complete a degree in elementary education can find work as teachers, curriculum directors, educational consultants, intervention specialists, educational researchers, community college instructors or evaluation specialists.

The report also said the university was ranked as having the nation's 25th best online graduate education program.

"It is our goal to provide quality programs that are affordable," Carey President Tommy King said in a press release. "This No. 5 national ranking recognizes our efforts."
