C-SPAN bus to visit Coast schools
The C-SPAN bus is making stops in South Mississippi this week to encourage civic engagement among students and promote C-SPAN programs and resources.
The 45-foot customized bus travels the country to promote C-SPAN's "Road to the White House" series and will introduce a 2016 campaign app so visitors can explore potential presidential candidates, events and footage from the campaign trail. The C-SPAN bus will also debut a new 12-part history series called "Landmark Cases: Historic Supreme Court Decisions."
Interactive technology aboard the bus will allow visitors to experience in-depth public affairs programming, touch-screen quizzes on C-SPAN and the three branches of government and production equipment capable of producing public affairs programming aboard the bus.
The bus will be at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg Thursday morning, then at Gautier Middle School from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday. On Friday, it will be at Harrison Central High School from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. And at Biloxi High School from 12:45 p.m. To 2:15 p.m.
