USM Gulf Park students present papers at national conferences

Five English students at the University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Park campus recently presented papers at two prestigious annual conferences.

Holly Rutledge, of Long Beach, presented her non-fiction piece at the Sigma Tau Delta Conference for the Southern Region in St. Augustine, Fla.

Heather Miller, of Long Beach, Shelby Payne, of Noxapater, Megan Wilkinson, of Ocean Springs, and Rachel Smith of Diamondhead, presented papers together as part of a panel discussion at the 2015 Gulf South History and Humanities Conference in Natchez.

All five students are seniors and all are members of the school's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honors society.
