The Gulfport School District will cut more than $5 miillion from its budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1.
The cuts were announced by Superintendent Glen East this morning.
The cuts include salary reductions for all employees including up to $3,000 a year for teachers.
The district also has cut some of its programs.

The district also will likely ask the City of Gulfport for a property tax increase to augment the budget. The tax increase would take effect in October.
