Coast districts, schools announce return to class plan. Here’s the list, including changes

After the rare snowfall across the Gulf Coast, Mississippi Coast school districts and institutions of higher learning must decide what to do about bringing students back to school.

Here is a list of local districts and schools and their announced plans for Friday, Jan. 24, which will continue to be updated as cancellations roll in. Please note changes with Bay St. Louis-Waveland, Coast Episcopal, Hancock County, Holy Trinity, Our Lady Academy, Pearl River County and Saint Stanislaus:

Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District: After reassessment, schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Biloxi Public School District: Schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Coast Episcopal School: After reassessment, schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

George County School District: Schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Grace Baptist Academy: Returning to school Friday, Jan. 24, with a delayed start time of 9 a.m.

Gulfport School District: Schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Hancock County School District: After reassessment, schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Harrison County School District: Schools remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Holy Trinity Catholic School: After reassessment, schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Jackson County School District: Schools remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Long Beach School District: Schools remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Moss Point School District: Schools remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Nativity BVM School: School remains closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

Ocean Springs School District: Schools remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Our Lady Academy: After reassessment, schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Our Lady of Fatima Catholic: School remains closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

Pascagoula-Gautier School District: Schools remain closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

Pass Christian School District: Schools remain closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

Pearl River County School District: After reassessment, schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Picayune School District: Schools remain closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

Poplarville School District: Returning to school Friday, Jan. 24, but with a 2-hour delayed start.

Resurrection Catholic: Schools remain closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

Sacred Heart Catholic: School remains closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

St. Alphonsus Catholic School: School remains closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

St. James Catholic: School remains closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

St. Patrick Catholic High School: School remains closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic: School remains closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

Saint Stanislaus High School: After reassessment, schools will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24.

Stone County School District: Schools remain closed on Friday, Jan. 24.

Higher education

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College: All MGCCC locations will remain closed Friday, Jan. 24. All classes will be online. All campus facilities are closed except for the cafeteria and residence halls on the Perkinston Campus.

University of Southern Mississippi: Resuming normal operations Friday, Jan. 24 at the Gulf Park campus and at all teaching and research sites along the Gulf Coast.

William Carey University: Announced Wednesday that all regular classes and operations for all three campuses will resume on Friday, Jan. 24.
