Beloved Pass Christian Middle School coach and mentor dies. ‘We will never be the same.’
A Pass Christian Middle School coach and mentor to many died Sunday night, the school district announced Monday on Facebook.
Kevin Woods, a longtime football and basketball coach, passed away surrounded by loved ones.
“To say we are heartbroken by his passing doesn’t quite explain the hurt we are all feeling,” the school district said.
Woods was a Pass Christian coach and educator for more than 25 years and “poured his love” into the children and student athletes at Pass schools.
The district said Woods was more than a coach to many — he was a place where students looked for inspiration and mentorship when they needed it. Woods was also proud to be part of Pirate Nation, the district said.
“His impact reaches across generations,” the district said. “We will never be the same.”
Funeral arrangements and an obituary have not yet been announced or published.
