Bay-Waveland Middle School principal no longer employed with school district
The principal at Bay Waveland Middle School is no longer employed with the district.
Sandra Reed, superintendent for the Bay Waveland School District, confirmed to the Sun Herald Thursday that Jeremy Weir was no longer in his position at the school.
The Sun Herald received multiple reports that Weir was escorted off campus Wednesday, but Reed did not comment on that matter.
Reed said she did not know how long Weir had been employed with the district, but he had been an administrator for at least five years.
Weir’s Facebook page said he’s been with BWSD since 2010. He also spent time as principal at North Bay Elementary.
Weir, a military veteran, previously worked as a teacher in the Hancock County School District.
Reed did not comment further on the personnel matter.
