One of two inmates who escaped from a Hinds County facility Aug. 22 was captured Saturday in George County.

George County Sheriff Keith Havard said William George Boyle, 36, was known to have family in the George County area.

Havard said a tip led deputies to the Indian Creek Road area in the Barton Community, where Boyle was spotted walking down the road with a female.

Boyle took off running when he spotted deputies, according to the police report. He tried to hide in the woods, but was captured after a short chase.

He was taken into custody and booked into the George County Regional Jail, where he remains at this time.

According to Mississippi Department of Corrections, Boyle was convicted of arson, and desertion of non-support of child in George County in June of 2015 and sentenced to three years to serve and an additional three years of probation.
