A housekeeper who stole $5,000 in rings from a home where she had worked buried them in the ground in Waveland, a sheriff’s detective said.
Investigators have arrested Margaret Ann Golemon, 44, of State Street in Bay St. Louis on a charge of grand larceny.
The theft of two rings was reported from a home on Arcadia Farm Road, which has a Pass Christian address, Lt. Coley Judy said.
The investigation led to Golemon, he said.
Bay St. Louis police found Golemon and she was taken to the Harrison County jail Tuesday.
“We interviewed her and she told us she did it and told us where to find the rings,” Judy said.
Waveland police assisted sheriff’s investigators in using metal detectors to find the rings.
The rings were buried behind a Waveland business, Judy said.
Golemon has been released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
