Police have arrested a felon they say fired shots at Stonegate Apartments on Monday night, striking a man several times.

Rico Raschwan Brown, 27, was booked at the Harrison County jail early Tuesday on a charge of aggravated assault.

The shooting was reported about 7 p.m.

The apartment complex is on 21st Street near 39th Avenue.

The wounded man was taken by ambulance to a hospital, police Sgt. Damon McDaniel said. An investigation revealed Brown and the man were arguing, it turned into a fight and Brown pulled out a firearm and began shooting, McDaniel said.

Brown left on foot and police later found him in the apartment complex, McDaniel said.

Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray set Brown’s bond at $250,000 bond, but Brown isn’t eligible to post bail. He is being held on pending felonies.

Brown has been indicted on charges of aggravated assault and felon with a firearm from a shooting in March 2015.

Police have said Brown fired shots at another man during an argument in the parking lot of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. Brown and the man drove off, police said. The man was not wounded.
