New Orleans homicide victim identified as Hancock County man
New Orleans police and the City of New Orleans Coroner have identified a homicide victim from last week as a Hancock County man.
Matthew Spooner, 35, was shot in the head in the 2100 block of North Miro Street in New Orleans around 1:10 a.m. July 6. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hancock County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Don Bass confirmed Spooner’s last address was in north Hancock County.
The investigation into his death is ongoing and detectives are following up on leads, officials in New Orleans said.
They declined to release further details.
