Convicted felon arrested for carrying handgun

A convicted felon was arrested in Biloxi on Saturday for carrying a gun, officials said.

Victoria Brooke High Anderson, 43, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and resisting or obstructing arrest.

A Biloxi police officer contacted Anderson in the 9000 block of Beach Boulevard Saturday evening, authorities said. A criminal history check revealed she had previously been convicted of a felony and was prohibited from having a firearm.

Details about her criminal record were not immediately available on Sunday.

She was taken to the Harrison County jail on a $10,536 bond.

A court date for the resisting arrest charge, a misdemeanor, has been set in Biloxi city court for Sept. 12. The felon in possession charge, a felony, will be tried in justice court and a hearing date has not yet been set.
