A George County woman pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges alleging she was impaired by drugs when she was involved in a collision that left three people dead.

Kimberlie Edan Dailey, 29, waived the arraignment and Circuit Judge Kathy King Jackson set at July 25 trial date.

Dailey was under the influence of methamphetamine, court records say, when her pickup truck veered out of her lane and hit a car head-on May 13, 2015, killing three people.

James Richard “J.P.” Powell Jr, 42, and friend April Eugene Livingston, 36, died at the crash scene on Marshall Road near Barton-Agricola Road. Powell was a musician and artist who was working as an appliance repairman at Lucedale Appliance at the time of his death. He also was a member of Lucedale Church of Christ.

A mother of two, Livingston was a homemaker and Lucedale resident.

Powell's mother, Donna Faye Powell, 69, died at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, shortly after the crash. She was a longtime seamstress at the Garment Factory and a member of Lucedale Church of Christ.

Dailey suffered minor injuries and underwent treatment at George County Regional Medical Center. After her release, she was jailed in George County on a $1 million bond. She has remained jailed since her arrest.

The George County Sheriff's Office investigated the case.

Dailey was previously convicted on conspiracy to commit a crime in 2011, state Department of Corrections officials said,, and was sentenced to five years in prison. She was paroled in October 2012.

She has also been arrested on a probation violations and a charge of a conspiracy to manufacture meth.

If convicted of felony DUI causing death, Dailey could face a prison sentence of up to 25 years on each count.
