Reported shooting puzzles police
Gulfport police are investigating a reported shooting but finding few answers so far.
Officers responded to the area of 20th Street around 11 a.m. on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found no evidence of gunshots, said Gulfport Police Sgt. Damon McDaniel.
Later, a shooting victim turned up at an area hospital, McDaniel said. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Police are asking for the public’s help.
“Anyone with information should call,” McDaniel said. “We don’t have a scene; we don’t have an address; we don’t have anything other than what I’ve described.”
