GULFPORT -- A 19-year-old man was shot on 45th Avenue, police said.
The man's wounds were not life-threatening, police Sgt. Damon McDaniel said.
People responded to a report of shots fired about 9:50 p.m. in the 1900 block of 45th Avenue.
Police found no one shot or wounded when they arrived, but "we later received information a male victim was taken to a local hospital," McDaniel said.

"We don't know anything and we don't have any suspect information," he said. "But we are still working the case and hope we can get information out of the victim or from anyone else."
The wounded man was able to talk after the shooting, he said.
