Moss Point police: Shooting suspect considered armed and dangerous

MOSS POINT -- Moss Point police have identified a suspect in a shooting that left one injured Sunday in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn in Moss Point.

Police Chief Art McClung is asking for the public's help to find Timothy Johnson, a resident of the 2200 block of Catalpa Avenue, in connection with the shooting. He is wanted on charges of attempted murder and attempted robbery and is considered armed and dangerous.

McClung said the victim in the shooting ran from the Holiday Inn parking lot on Amoco Drive to the Best Western next door for help.

The victim was taken from the Best Western to Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, where he underwent surgery. The victim's name has not yet been released and an update on his condition is not known.

Since the shooting, McClung said investigators have worked until they were able to identify the suspect.

A possible motive for the crime has not been released.

Johnson is known to drive a gold Nissan Maxima or Altima with a red stripe.
