JACKSON COUNTY -- A Pascagoula man has been arrested in Jackson County on seven counts of burglary, according to Ocean Springs police Capt. William "Chuck" Jackson.

Antowin Vasha Porter, 38, of the 3400 block of Chico Street, was first picked up in Harrison County for driving with a vehicle with stolen tag and possession of a stolen vehicle. That arrest occurred on Friday. At the time of his arrest in Harrison County, Jackson said, deputies found various miscellaneous identification cards, checks and credit card that did not belong to Porter.

Harrison County investigators contacted area law enforcement agencies and determined several of the items had been taken in auto burglaries in Ocean Springs.

Ocean Springs detectives were unable to catch up with Porter before he bonded out of jail.

On Monday, Ocean Springs police arrested Porter without incident at his home in Pascagoula. Armed with a search warrant, police were able to take a look inside his home, where officers found several other items taken during recent auto burglaries in Ocean Springs.

Porter is being held at the Ocean Springs Municipal Jail pending an initial court appearance.
