Police K-9 bites Saucier man accused in burglary

A Saucier man was sent to a hospital after he was bitten by a law enforcement dog Saturday, Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson said.

Daniel Reagan, 38, was arrested on a charge of burglary of a dwelling.

Peterson said deputies responded to a burglary in progress on McQuire Drive in Saucier and apprehended Reagan in the woods behind the house he is accused of burglarizing. A witness had said she saw Reagan break into a trailer on her property. Deputies sent out the K-9 when they realized Reagan was in the woods behind the property.

A police dog was sent to apprehend Reagan, Peterson said.

Reagan was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport to be treated for a dog bite, then to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.

His bond was set at $25,000 by Judge Diane Ladner.
