Stolen tires, rims in Pass Christian lead to arrest
HARRISON COUNTY -- Deputies have arrested a convicted felon accused of stealing tires and rims valued in excess of $1,000 from a home in the Pineville community, Sheriff Troy Peterson said.
A man reported he saw Eric Waaga take the items from his porch on May 4, Peterson said.
Deputies arrested Waaga, 38, on Thursday on a charge of grand larceny. The arrest came during a traffic stop on a careless driving violation at Beatline Road and 28th Street in Long Beach, the sheriff said.
Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray set Waaga's bond at $100,000.
Waaga is held with no bond for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
He has been on probation for a 2009 conviction for receiving stolen property.
