GULFPORT -- Police say a Gulfport man with a pending cyberstalking charge went into a family's home late Thursday night and sexually assaulted a 9-year-old boy.

Police arrested Dominique Montez Macon, 23, Friday on charges of burglary of a residence and sexual battery of a minor.

About 10:30 p.m. Thursday, a man reported someone had forced his way in through the child's bedroom window in the 1000 block of 35th Street, assaulted the boy and run away, police Sgt. Damon McDaniel said.

Detectives arrested Macon at his home.

McDaniel declined to say if the family knows Macon.

Macon was questioned at the Gulfport Police Department and booked at the Harrison County jail on bonds that total $2 million.

Gulfport police had arrested Macon on the cyberstalking charge Nov. 25. That case involves a teenage victim, McDaniel said.

Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner has revoked Macon's bond on the cyberstalking charge. McDaniel said investigation on the latest case is continuing.
