HARRISON COUNTY -- A fire that destroyed a mobile home Thursday is under investigation as a possible arson.

No one was living in the residence on Dan Walker Road, not far from the Stone County line, Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan said.

"We are ruling it as suspicious in nature," he said.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department and the State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating, he said.

The fire was reported shortly after 6 a.m.

McHenry firefighters came to help with the blaze along with firefighters from Saucier, Lizana, Harrison County Fire Services and the Combat Readiness Training Center in Gulfport.

McHenry crews and others brought in tankers to help supply water, Sullivan said.

No injuries were reported.
