Woman's ashes stolen in Biloxi home burglary

BILOXI -- An urn containing a deceased woman's ashes was among items reported stolen in a home burglary.

The urn, televisions and a DVD player were taken from a home on Nixon Street over the weekend, police Sgt. O'Neal Adams said.

The house was burglarized between 8 p.m. Saturday and about 5 p.m. Sunday, when the resident called police to report someone had broken a window to get in, Adams said.

The woman had gone out of town overnight, he said.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity or who has any information.

The ashes are of particular concern to the resident, who is hoping to see them returned.
