Police: Man arrested after becoming violent at hospital

Biloxi police said a man was arrested early Tuesday morning after he became violent and destroying property at Merit Health Hospital in Biloxi.

Biloxi police Sgt. O'Neal Adams said hospital employees reported Clifford Jackson, 53, was on acting belligerent on hospital property. He said when the employees asked Jackson to leave he became violent, shattering the glass in a door in the Emergency Room and damaging a second door.

Jackson was arrested on a charge of felony malicious mischief and taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. His bond was set at $10,000 by Judge Albert Fountain.

Jackson had been arrested twice in July for disturbing the peace.
