Man accused in sex crimes against child
HARRISON COUNTY -- A Kentucky man has been arrested on sexual battery charges involving a relative who was 10 when he began to sexually assault her, Sheriff Troy Peterson said.
Steve Granger IV, 38, of Milton, Ky., turned himself in Thursday to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office after learning of a warrant for his arrest.
A complaint filed April 13 alleges Granger began to sexually assault the girl in July 2012 while he lived in Saucier, Peterson said. The girl, now a teenager, claims the abuse continued until Granger moved to Kentucky in January, Peterson said.
Sheriff's investigators obtained an arrest warrant after a child advocate interviewed the teen and law enforcement officers gathered other evidence, Peterson said.
Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray set bonds that total $20,000.
Granger was booked at the Harrison County jail and was released on bond.
