BILOXI -- Police arrested a 19-year-old man Monday on a charge of a taking away a motor vehicle.

Officers booked Zackary William Taylor into the Harrison County jail where he is being held without bond.

Biloxi police Investigator Nick Sonnier said the arrest stems from an investigation into a purse-snatching on the 800 block of Howard Avenue on Sunday.

Following the theft of the purse, which contained the victim's car keys, the victim's car was stolen from a nearby parking lot.

On Monday, officers spotted the vehicle being driven near U.S. 90 and Main Street.

The driver fled to a nearby parking lot where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short foot chase, officers arrested the driver and identified him as Taylor, Sonnier said.

Justice Court Judge Bruce Strong ordered Taylor held without bond because Taylor was already out on bond for a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance at the time of his arrest Monday.
