Officials arrest 3 in unrelated stops on assault, burglary, molestation charges

HARRISON COUNTY -- Deputies have arrested a Pass Christian man wanted in an assault in Rockford, Ill., as well as two others suspected in unrelated child molestation or property crimes.

Jean Videl White, 39, of Cuevas-DeLisle Road, was taken into custody Thursday night after a deputy stopped him on a traffic violation on Menge Avenue, Sheriff Troy Peterson said.

A background check showed he was wanted in Illinois.

He is held without bond. The county jail docket shows he has waived the right to an extradition hearing.

The other two arrested Thursday night were wanted on warrants after indictment.

Christopher Aaron White, 32, of Todd Terrace in Long Beach, faces prosecution on two counts of unlawful touching of a child. Peterson said the charges were filed by the Long Beach Police Department.

White is accused in the molestation of a child under age 16 between May and July, Long Beach Police Chief Wayne McDowell said.

It doesn't appear Jean White and Christopher White are related, Peterson said. He said Christopher White was walking at Menge and Interstate 10 when a deputy stopped to question him.

Richard Michael Lawrence, 26, of Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, faces prosecution on charges of auto theft and auto burglary. The charges were filed by the sheriff's office.

Peterson said Lawrence was driving a Jeep Cherokee at U.S. 49 and Old U.S. 49 in Saucier when a deputy conducted a traffic stop and learned Lawrence was wanted on warrants.

Christopher White and Richard Lawrence were held without bond pending appearances in Harrison County Circuit Court.
