BAY ST. LOUIS -- Police on arrested a man Friday, accused of peeping through a girl's window.

Javier Alonso, 50, of Bay St. Louis, faces a charge of Peeping Tom voyeurism.

The alleged incident occurred Feb. 20 on Green Meadow Road. A woman told police her daughter was putting on makeup when she noticed a man spying on her from outside a window, Sgt. Gary Hudgens said.

The girl, whose age was not reported, identified the man as Alonso, who also lives on Green Meadow Road.

Alonso came to the police station of his own accord later that evening and told officers he was "confused" about what was going on. At a later date, the girl and her mother pressed charges against him, prompting police to issue a warrant for his arrest, Hudgens said.

He was taken into custody without incident Friday and booked into the Hancock County jail. He was released Saturday after posting a $5,000 bond.
