JACKSON COUNTY -- The victim of a homicide in the St. Andrews community on Tuesday died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said.

The results of the complete autopsy, including the results of toxicology tests, are still pending on Donta Lashaw Banks, 29, of Biloxi.

A sheriff's deputy found Banks' body Tuesday morning on a dirt road that connects Cook and Davis streets.

Authorities arrested Hubert Patrick Anderson, 35, and Rita Olivia Johnston, 36, each on a capital murder charge in the killing.

They killed Banks and stole a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica he had recently purchased, Ezell said.

Authorities identified the suspects shortly after Anderson crashed Banks' mini-van into a home on Lackland Drive off Popp's Ferry Road Tuesday evening.

Johnston has an initial court appearance Friday. Anderson remains jailed in Harrison County.
