GULFPORT -- Police are searching for a masked gunman who held up a Subway restaurant on Pass Road on Tuesday night.

Officers responded about 8:20 p.m to a report of an armed robbery at the Subway in the 2100 block of East Pass Road.

The responding officers learned a man entered the restaurant with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled from the business on foot, Gulfport police spokesman Sgt. Damon McDaniel said.

The man was described as black wearing dark-colored clothing and a mask. Police consider him to be "armed and dangerous," McDaniel said.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Gulfport police at 868-5959 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
