GULFPORT -- A woman who became upset with another customer in a Family Dollar store went to her car, got a gun and fired a shot, police said.

Tamika Nicole Guy, 40, was at the Family Dollar on 28th Street near 34th Avenue when she and a woman she didn't know began to argue Sunday afternoon, police Sgt. Damon McDaniel said. The argument was about something as simple as whose turn it was in the checkout line, he said.

The shot was fired in the parking lot, he said, but no one was injured.

McDaniel said Guy was still on the premises when police arrived.

Police arrested her on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The felony is punishable by up to a year in jail or up to 20 years in a state prison.

Police put crime-scene tape around the business while collecting evidence.

Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner set Guy's bond at $100,000, McDaniel said.

She was booked at the county jail and released in about an hour after bail was posted, the jail docket showed.
