Man arrested after chase through woods in Harrison County

HARRISON COUNTY -- A man has been arrested after he led officials on a chase into the woods off Mississippi 53, Sheriff Troy Peterson said.

Deputies arrested Ricky Castiglia, 25, of Andy Street, Tuesday after he ran from them following a report of a burglary of a vehicle, Peterson said.

A resident of Cottage Station mobile home park had reported the burglary.

After the car's owner described a suspicious vehicle to responding deputies, they saw the vehicle driving into the park as they were leaving, and asked the driver to get out and talk to them. It was Castiglia, Peterson said, and he ran off into nearby woods but was soon caught.

He faces an auto burglary charge and is held at the county jail.

Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner set his bond at $50,000.

Castiglia was on probation for a burglary conviction, the jail docket shows. He is held on a probation warrant for the state Department of Corrections.
