HARRISON COUNTY -- Deputies arrested three Florida men during a traffic stop Thursday after finding a credit card counterfeiting machine in their vehicle, Sheriff Troy Peterson said in a release.

Arrested were Steven Lee Mitchell, 28; Jovany Appolon, 20; and Daniel Costa-Sousa, 23, all of Miami. They each face a charge of possession of a counterfeit instrument.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 10 westbound at the 20 mile marker, and noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, they found burnt marijuana, multiple prepaid credit cards and an embosser used to make counterfeit credit cards, the sheriff said.

The men are being held in the Harrison County jail. Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner set their bonds at $50,000 each.
