Burglars clean out laundromat, flee in U-Haul van

D'IBERVILLE -- Police are asking for help to identify two men who broke into a laundromat, took cash from the machines and stole a U-Haul van from the parking lot Tuesday morning.

Police Capt. Marty Griffin said officers responded to a report of a burglary about 7 a.m. at Nick's Wash-N-Dri on Popp's Ferry Road.

Detectives determined two men had pried open the rear door, removed cash from the registers, stole a coin machine and managed to cut open an ATM and remove its cash. They also stole a rental van from the laundromat, which is also a U-Haul dealer, Griffin said.

The men took the van's keys from the office and drove away.

The van is a white 2015 GMC Savanna bearing U-Haul markings and a dent in the center of the rear bumper.

It is registered to U-Haul and has an Arizona license plate, AG76450.
