JACKSON COUNTY -- A pedestrian was hit by a car Friday in the 1400 block of Big Ridge Road.
Jackson County deputies arrived about 10:40 p.m. and found the victim lying in the road. The 2004 Cadillac Escalade that had hit the person was also still there, Sheriff Mike Ezell said in a press release.
The driver told deputies he saw the person walking down the middle of the road but was unable to avoid him.
Acadian Ambulance Service took the victim to Ocean Springs Hospital where he is listed as stable, the sheriff said.
