D'IBERVILLE -- Police are asking for tips to identify three women accused in a shoplifting case in which a store employee was assaulted, D'Iberville police Capt. Clay Jones said.

The three women allegedly stole merchandise from Kohl's at the Promenade Parkway on Friday.

When they got outside, police said, the store's loss-prevention officer confronted them and was assaulted by two of the women.

"They hit her several times," Jones said Tuesday. "She does have scratches on her face and a cut on her fingers."

She was attacked while trying to get the women to come back into the store because of the shoplifting investigation.

The women fled in a gold 2007 Dodge minivan.

The store's video surveillance cameras caught images of the shoplifters.

They are wanted on shoplifting charges, and two also face assault charges.

The employee was taken by ambulance to Merit Health in Biloxi, treated and released.
