Victim bound with duct tape during home invasion in Jackson County
OCEAN SPRINGS -- A Jackson County resident was found lying on the floor of his home, bound with duct tape, after a home invasion Sunday.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said deputies responded about 7:30 p.m. to a home in the 6500 block of Cortez Avenue.
Neighbors heard the victim yelling for help and found him bound with duct tape on the floor of his home after the suspects left the residence, Ezell said.
The victim told deputies he heard someone knocking on his door, and before he could answer it, he heard a loud crash as two men forced their way inside, the sheriff said.
Authorities said both suspects appeared to be black males in their late teens or early 20s. One is described as lighter skinned, about 5-foot-9. The other is described as dark-skinned, about 5-foot-8, with a short haircut.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jackson County Sheriff's Department at 875-6963.
