VANCLEAVE -- Jackson County deputies on arrested two men Thursday in the theft of off-road vehicles.

Darrin Avery McDaniel, 31, and Ricky Roger Treloar, 45, both of Vancleave, each face a charge of grand larceny. McDaniel faces an additional charge of receiving stolen property.

On Tuesday, deputies were notified an ATV had been stolen from a residence on Larue Road. Its owner told deputies he discovered his 2006 Suzuki 400 four-wheeler had been stolen when McDaniel, a friend of the owner, told him he'd seen someone riding it down Larue Road, Sheriff Mike Ezell said in a press release.

Officials found the ATV at a residence in the St. Martin community and identified two suspects, one of which turned out to be the ATV owner's friend.

On Thursday, investigators arrested Treloar and McDaniel at their home on Travis Avenue.

Ezell said McDaniel's arrest also led to the recovery of a 2014 Hawk dirt bike that was reported stolen to the Ocean Springs Police Department.

McDaniel and Treloar are being held in the Jackson County jail. Bond for either man has not been set.
