Panty raid: Two accused in theft of guns, deer sausage, bras, panties
HANCOCK COUNTY -- Sheriff's investigators have arrested two Kiln men accused in a burglary at a home during which guns, deer sausage, cooking utensils and clothing such as bras and panties were taken.
Investigators arrested Brandon Joseph Ladner, 25, and Ty Braden Ladner, 18, Saturday after the Hancock County Sheriff's Office received a tip they were trying to sell stolen guns, Detective A.J. Gambino said Wednesday.
They each face a charge of burglary of a residence and firearms trafficking. The latter charge under state law involves possession of three or more stolen firearms.
The burglary was reported Saturday.
"The residence was ransacked, pretty much," Gambino said. "They took a lot of deer sausage from a deep freezer."
For most of the items taken, "it appeared that they took things they may have needed," Gambino said. "It included spatulas and plastic spoons like you get from the Dollar Store, a lot of clothes, men's and women's. The women's clothing included bras and panties."
Why take bras and panties?
That remains unclear, Gambino said.
"It's still an active investigation and we expect more arrests to be made," he said.
It's also unclear if the men are related.
Gambino said investigators found the two and most of the stolen property, including the underwear.
They remained in custody Wednesday at the Hancock County jail. Each has bonds that total $10,000.
