Gautier police investigating shooting that left two injured

GAUTIER -- Police are investigating a shooting Sunday night that left two injured.

Police Sgt. Nick Crocker said the shooting was reported at 11 p.m. in the parking lot of the Antebellum Manor apartment complex in the 5000 block of Gautier-Vancleave Road. The call came in to police officers, he said, as a report of shots fired.

Once police officers got to the scene, he said, they found the two men suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. He said police know both men are residents of Gautier, but did not immediately know if they lived at the apartment complex.

No arrests have been made and what prompted the shooting remains under investigation.

"Once we know more, we plan to release more information," Crocker said Monday.

The victims suffered non life-threatening injuries. They were taken to Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, where they were treated and released.

The investigation is ongoing, with unspecified charges pending.
