JACKSON COUNTY -- A Moss Point man is accused in the theft of $10,000 worth of property from shipping containers parked on private property on Lyons Creek Road.

The property was reported missing Dec. 18 after locks had been cut off the containers at a lot in the 8200 block of Lyons Creek Road, Chief Deputy John Ledbetter said in a news release.

Ledbetter said evidence from the scene led investigators to James Darrell Austin of Pinedale Street.

Deputies arrested Austin, 54, Monday on a commercial burglary charge.

Investigators recovered the stolen property at Austin's home, Ledbetter said, and returned it to the victim.

Austin was held with no bond at the Jackson County jail.

Ledbetter said the investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
