Man accused in auto burglary jumps into the Sound
BILOXI -- A Long Beach man has been arrested after police said he ran away from a crime scene and jumped into the Mississippi Sound.
Biloxi police investigator Nick Sonnier said Corey Rashad Moore, 24, was arrested Thursday on the charge of auto burglary.
Sonnier said a car was burglarized in the 100 block of Lameuse Street in Biloxi.
"The victim of the burglary entered the parking lot and observed the passenger-side window busted out of her vehicle," Sonnier said. "Moore, who was still in the parking lot, fled south towards U.S. 90."
Sonnier said the woman and a witness chased the man to the Hard Rock Casino Biloxi, where Moore jumped into the Sound.
Police found Moore in the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino where he was apprehended and taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
His bond was set at $50,000 by Judge Albert Fountain.
