Bomb scare at Pascagoula pharmacy

PASCAGOULA -- Police responded to a bomb scare Tuesday at a pharmacy on U.S. 90.

Pascagoula Police Lt. Doug Adams said authorities received a report of a bomb threat shortly before 5 p.m. at CVS on the corner of U.S. 90 and Market Street.

Employees and shoppers evacuated the building as officers formulated a plan to clear the store, Adams said.

Officers entered the building with a bomb-sniffing K-9 unit from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and found no traces of explosives.

"We ran the bomb dog through from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, and everything was clear," Adams said.

No one was injured in the incident, and the store reopened about 7 p.m.
