Man charged with possession of a weapon by a felon

A Harrison County man on Wednesday was arrested on the charge of possession of a weapon by a felon.

Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said James Bang, 34, of Saucier, was arrested after a traffic stop at Jake Bell Road and Wolf River Road. While a deputy was speaking with Bang, he saw a rifle in the backseat of the vehicle, Brisolara said.

A background search showed that Bang had a prior conviction.

Bang was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. His bond was set at $100,000 by judge Brandon Ladner.
