A Saucier man has been sentenced to 2O years in prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child.
District Attorney Joel Smith said Hal Benton Broadus, 29, was sentenced Thursday on a guilty plea to sexual battery of a child.
He will serve 20 years in prison without being eligible for parole, as well as five years post-release supervision. He must also register as a sex offender.
In March 2014, Broadus was accused of sexual misconduct against a child during a family gathering.

"In addition to the detectives for the Harrison County Sheriff's Department who were able to provide evidence of the abuse, the interviewing of the victim by Hope Haven was integral to today's convictions and should be commended," Assistant District Attorney Crosby Parker said.
