HARRISON COUNTY -- A sex offender arrested in November on six counts of possession of child pornography is facing additional sex-crimes charges, Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said.
George Joseph Ramp Jr., 39, was arrested in Nov. 18 on charges he possessed images of children engaged in sex acts. Authorities seized various electronic devices.
As part of the ongoing investigation, Harrison County sheriff's investigators and members of the Gulf Coast Cyber Crimes Task Force searched Ramp's electronic devices and discovered three child victims of the alleged sex crimes, one of whom lives in Jackson County.
As a result, Ramp has been arrested on two additional charges of touching of a child for lustful purposes.
Ramp told authorities he is homeless.
He was convicted in December 2003 of two counts of touching of a mentally defective, incapacitated or physically helpless person for lustful purposes. Those crimes occurred in Harrison County.
Ramp is being held at the Harrison County jail on a total bond of $300,000 set by Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner.
Additional charges are expected to be filed.
