Pascagoula man faces aggravated assault charge after family friend shot
A Pascagoula man has been arrested on a charge of aggravated assault after a Tuesday-morning shooting in Pascagoula.
Police Lt. Doug Adams said Tyler Key, 30, was arguing with his mother in a home in the 4000 block of Telephone Road when William Paulk, 40, a family friend, tried to intervene.
Paulk was shot once in the right thigh with a handgun. He was taken to Singing River Hospital with a non-life threatening wound, Adams said. Adams could not confirm whether Paulk has been released from the hospital.
"Mr. Key and his mother were arguing," Adams said. "It was a verbal argument. We're not sure what led to the shooting at this time."
Key was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was taken to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. Key's bond has not been set.
Adams said the shooting is still under investigation
