Man arrested in bad-check scheme at casino
BILOXI -- A California man has been arrested for attempting to pass a bad check at the Golden Nugget Casino.
Biloxi police Sgt. Donnie Dobbs said Hung Phong Vinh Bui of Westminster was arrested Saturday on the charge of false pretense.
Dobbs said Bui attempted to pass a $50,000 cashier's check at the casino for a line of credit when it was discovered the check had already been redeemed at another casino.
Bui was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. His bond was set at $100,000 by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.
