Vancleave woman gets probation for embezzling $13K from boss
PASCAGOULA -- A Vancleave woman has been sentenced to five years' probation and ordered to repay thousands of dollars she embezzled from her former employer, a financial accountant in Jackson County.
A Jackson County grand jury indicted Susan Paulette Frady, 54, of Quave Road, on one count of embezzlement. She was accused of taking $13,264 between Oct. 1, 2013, and July 29, 2014, from financial accountant Charles Graham Jr. when she worked for him.
As part of her sentence, Frady was admitted into the Jackson County Drug Court program. She was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victims' Compensation Fund.
In her plea, she wrote she "took some money" from Graham.
Born in Biloxi, she said she attended Vancleave High School through her junior year. She said had also worked at a day care and a roofing business. She is married.
As part of the sentence, she will have to repay the $13,264 in full to Graham.
Court records show Frady entered a drug-treatment program shortly after she was sentenced.
The sentence was non-adjudicated, meaning if she completes the terms of her sentence and makes full restitution, her charge will be dismissed from her record.
Assistant District Attorney Cherie Wade prosecuted the case.
