Moss Point man sentenced for sexual battery against 15-year-old

A Moss Point man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of assaulting a 15-year-old.

James Terrial Jones, 38, was found guilty Tuesday of sexual battery that occurred March 23, 2012, prosecutors said. Gautier police investigated the case.

In addition to 25 years in prison, Judge Dale Harkey sentenced Jones to five years of post-release supervision and imposed a $2,000 fine, court costs and $1,000 to the Mississippi Children's Trust Fund. Jones also is being placed on the sex offender registry.
