Two accused in string of Biloxi burglaries
BILOXI -- Two Gulfport men have been arrested in a series of auto burglaries in Biloxi.
Irie Ikeem Williamson, 23, and Edward Earl Brown, 19, were arrested Tuesday on seven counts each of auto burglary and one each of grand larceny.
Police Lt. Christopher De Back said officers received a report of two men in the 800 block of Cedar Lake checking cars' door handles to see if they were unlocked.
As officers were canvassing the area came upon two men, De Back said, and by then residents had reported vehicles had been broken into.
The two were taken to the Biloxi Police Department.
Further investigation indicated more burglaries had been reported on the 1900 block of Popp's Ferry, as well as a stolen car.
The car was found near the scene of the arrests, De Back said, and Williamson and Brown were arrested on additional charges.
Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set Williams' bond at $200,000. Brown, who was out on bond from a prior arrest, was denied bond.
